There’s no getting away from the fact that organic food can be expensive. Very few people can afford to buy all organic fruit and vegetables, but figuring out which foods to buy organic can be a challenge. We’ve put together a 30-second guide to help you figure out which foods are worth spending the extra money on
Red: Apples, Strawberries, Potatoes, Celery, Spinach, Peppers, -these foods are either very attractive to insects, meaning a lot of pesticides are normally used in their production, or they have very permeable skins.
Yellow: Cabbage, Broccoli, Asparagus-these foods don’t suffer from as many problems with insects, so don’t require as many chemicals.
Green: Avocados, Pineapple, Bananas, Mango, Eggplant, Onions-these foods have fairly thick skins and/or are peeled before eating, so contain less pesticide residue.

If you’ve read this month’s newsletter, you may have seen that Ettitude will soon be stocking bamboo reusable baby nappies. Whilst reusable nappies might sound like many parents’ worst nightmare, people are often pleasantly surprised by how easy to deal with they are. Read on to find out some of benefits of bamboo reusable nappies, for you and baby.
The cost of disposable nappies is something that can really creep up on you over time. Whilst reusable nappies obviously cost a little more initially, you’ll be buying far fewer of them and therefore saving heaps of cash.
Then there are the health benefits for baby. Disposable nappies can contain harmful chemicals that irritate your child’s skin, whereas our pure bamboo reusable baby nappies are made from all natural materials. Some parents worry that reusable nappies aren’t as good at ‘locking’ liquid away from baby’s skin. This mushroom and parsnip soup recipe uses one of our favourite kitchen tools-the slow cooker. Ideal for busy mums, just chop the ingredients and leave them to simmer instead of standing over a hot stove. The slower cooking method makes for great flavours as well!
